Frequently Asked Questions

Why does dental care cost so much less abroad?

Labor, overhead costs, administrative expenses and insurance contracts generally drive dental fees in the U.S. At Guatemala Dental Team, we eliminate these burdens by offering high quality dental care at prices that are simply unavailable in the U.S and Canada. Here, our patients can expect savings of 50% to 80% compared to standard rates for the same or comparable dental services at home.

Can I speak with one of your dentists before making an appointment?

Yes. We understand that traveling to another country for dental work is a big decision. That’s why our dentists are happy to arrange a consultation with you via phone before scheduling your first appointment. This is a great opportunity to learn about our dental office, discuss your specific needs, and answer any questions you may have about various procedures.

What happens if I have an issue with my dental work after visiting your office?

No need to worry. We are so confident in the quality of our work; we guarantee it for 10 years! If an issue arises for any reason, simply call our office at (305) 938-0727. We will schedule a time for you to speak with one of our dentists to diagnosis the problem and determine the best solution.

What is maxillofacial surgery?

Maxillofacial or oral surgery is the branch of dentistry focused on the diagnosis and treatment of defects, injuries, and diseases involving the head, mouth, teeth, gums, jaws, and neck.

Are there any age or health restrictions for dental implants?

You can be a candidate for dental implants so long as you have enough bone available in which to place the dental implant. However, there are some medical issues that could prevent someone from being a candidate for dental implants. This could include thyroid and/or blood disorders, rare bone disorders, or if you’re currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
